TWIN PAGODA TEMPLE Twin Pagoda Temple, the symbol of Taiyuan City, also goes by the name "Yongzuo Temple." It is home to two pagodas, dating back to the Ming Dynasty, and it is for these that it named. Each pagoda is a 13 story octagon, almost 55 meters high. They are built entirely of bricks and carved to resemble ancient Chinese wooden pagodas. Inside the courtyard, samples of the famous handwritings of Chinese ancient calligraphers can be seen, and in front of the main hall, cloves and peony will blossom in the spring. These beautiful flowers make the old temple even more elegant. The temple is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm. You can get halfway there by taking the No.19 bus from the railway station and getting off one stop after the railway bridge. From there walk the few steps back to Shuangta North Road, turn left and follow this road for 20 minutes to the temple
