| Located in the east foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with an elevation of 3100 meters, Dry Sea, surrounded in three sides by mountains, is a highland meadow 23km from the old town. Here used to be a highland lake and when the water dried up, a vast meadow formed. Hence its name. Extensive and tranquil, the meadow is about 5 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide, dotted with verdant grass and short shrubbery.
Seen from here, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain appears a unique scene.
Today, many minority villages, resorts, parks, racetrack and golf courts have already been built there and the Dry Sea has become an important tourist spot in Lijiang. |
