Dwyane Wade Jersey. Nystroms short-handed goal in the third period led the red-hot Flames to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild.FIVE NBA THOUGHTS The Playoffs start this weekend and the fun begins with lots of intrigue as we head down the homestretch of the final week. 1. RON ARTEST/MR.PEACE (Lakers) - Im sorry but this guy has a long rap sheet and his elbow to James Harden was dirty. It should have no effect what Hardens condition is - the only thing that matters is that behaviour like this is unacceptable and needs to be dealt with in a firm/strong manner. No doubt in my mind he should be suspended for the first playoff round at the very least and get a hefty fine. Enough is enough with this guy. He meant it and a very good player like Harden pays the price. No room for this nonsense. 2. SOLOMON ALABI (Raptors) - Nice to see a terrific young man get a chance to get some minutes down the stretch. He can block shots and is a decent rebounder but his offence has a long way to go. Based upon what I see, might be difficult for him to stick around next season. Hes still a project and heading into his third year as a pro next season the clock is ticking. Sooner or later, it has to come together. No matter how it works out, will always root for him - class act. 3. TONY PARKER (Spurs) - Has been brilliant this season for his team. He has taken over and established himself as the lead guy in San Antonio. The depth of their team has been a huge plus in this lockout-shortened season. Ive been really impressed with his ability to take over games and be the best player on the floor whereas in the past he deferred to Manu + TD. Not anymore. Hes the Straw that stirs the Drink. The Spurs were upset last year by the Grizzlies and this man has to continnue to set the tone for his club.
Alonzo Mourning jersey The great depth wont be as big a factor with days off between games and limited travel as you lock in on one opponent. Matchups are huge in the playoffs. He has to continue to dominate games for the Spurs to go far. Hes got it in him. 4. NEW JERSEY NETS - The final week of a 35-year run on Long Island as the ABA New York Nets and NBA New Jersey Nets in Piscataway, East Rutherford and Newark. They are moving to my hometown of Brooklyn, NY this upcoming fall (Brooklyn in the House!!) and Im excited for them. Will they captivate the NY Metro area? Doubt it. Theyve been a dysfunctional outfit for a vast majority of their 35 years and unless they keep Deron Williams and get lucky with Dwight Howard and/or other moves, I see this as a nice diversion until they get their collective act together. When that will be? Only the Basketball Gods know. Gotta be pretty patient to be a true Nets fan. 5. SUNS vs JAZZ - TUESDAY NIGHT - The Showdown for the eighth and final playoff spot is a game you should have circled on your calendar. Looking forward to it. No matter what happens, both teams have impressed me with their significant improvement down the stretch and it will be good to see one of these clubs get in the playoffs. Is this Steve Nashs last week as a member of the Suns? What a run! Window for contending for playoffs will close for a bit for Suns if he departs whereas the Jazz have done a good job with developing/drafting/trades to position themselves to improve in the near future. Always enjoy late season games where the stakes are high and this ones got it. ' ' '
